John Delaney and Katherine Adams return for another page-turning thriller adventure by author Mitchell Graham.

In the 2008 book Majestic Descending, author Mitchell Graham introduced two interesting characters who now return for another episode of crime and drama. It is definitely not necessary for readers to read Majestic Descending before reading Dead Docket to completely understand the characters, however the first novel was extremely entertaining and worth reading.

In this story John Delaney, a former NYPD detective who is now a lawyer teaching in a law school is in a long-distance relationship with Katherine Adams, an attorney in Atlanta. Their relationship is heating up and she would like him to move to Atlanta. Being separated is not her idea of a great relationship.

Doing a Favor for an Old Friend Can be Dangerous

One day Delaney’s father’s old police partner comes to him with a request. His daughter, a former student of Delaney’s, was accidentally killed in Georgia while on a camping trip. The man would like Delaney to go to Atlanta to settle her affairs and tie up loose ends. He is too heartbroken to undertake the duties and also knows an attorney is needed to clean up her estate.

John feels a duty to do this. After all, the man was his father’s partner. And, it also gives him a reason to visit with Katherine. Besides spending time with her, she can help him manipulate the system in Atlanta. After all, it is her town.

What John discovers is that something was terribly wrong with the way the girl lived and possibly died. He remembers her as a nice, studious woman. What he discovers while packing up her apartment are several sex tapes featuring the young woman.

This leads John and Katherine to dig further and they come up with a trail of strange clues. Things are not what they seem to be on the outside. While on their investigation, the plot thickens, as they say in the movies. Soon Katherine and John are deep in the heart of a conspiracy which puts their lives in danger.

Mitchell Graham Writes Intriguing Stories With Memorable Characters

The twists in this storyline are well thought out and Mitchell Graham once again manages to bring a compelling, interesting, and entertaining story to his readers. Majestic Descending was an edge-of-your-seat page turner, and Dead Docket continues in the same genre.

Readers will be happy to know that another book with these same characters is on the horizon. Mitchell Graham knows how to pull his readers into the story and keep them wanting more. His characters are smart and enjoyable, and always manage to find themselves in the middle of an intriguing experience.
