The 2006 Quill Awards were presented October 10 in New York City at a gala event held at the American Museum of Natural History.

Among the winners was mystery writer, Janet Evanovich for her novel, Twelve Sharp. Other nominees in the mystery category included Michael Connelly, Harlan Coban, Elizabeth Peters, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle for a release of his collected stories. Ms. Evanovich also won the Quill Award in 2005, that time for her novel, Eleven on Top.

The Quill Awards, sponsored by NBC Universal and Reed Publishing, are a sort of "people's choice" awards for the publishing industry.
